Product Description

Flooring systems are exposed to thermal expansion, contraction, structural movement and other stresses. If these movements are not properly accommodated, stress can transfer into the tile covering and result in cracked tiles, damaged grout joints or delamination.

The Screw-Fixed Tile Expansion Joint Profile creates a defined movement zone between adjacent flooring sections while providing mechanical support and edge protection.

For heavy-duty applications, mechanically anchored expansion joint systems can use pre-drilled profiles and concrete anchoring screws to secure the profile directly to the substrate. Some commercial systems are specifically designed for high foot traffic, vehicle traffic and industrial environments.

The visible center section can be designed to accommodate movement while maintaining a clean architectural appearance across the finished floor.

Installation

Identify the structural or movement joint in the substrate.
Ensure the substrate and joint area are clean and properly prepared.
Position the expansion joint profile directly over the movement joint.
